A.C.E. Series: 5 Artists To Keep On Your Radar
Unexpected and ever-evolving, Contemporary Art encompasses a range of genres and mediums that keep collectors intrigued, but it’s the emerging artists that stoke the most excitement. Here are 5 that we think it’s worth keeping your eye on.
1. New York-based artist Robert Baribeau creates contemporary paintings with a fluidity that provokes discovery. His use of heavy impasto and striking color only further enhances the rhythm and beauty found deep within his compositions. Born in 1949 in Aberdeen, Washington, the alum of the Pratt Institute MFA program pulls in elements from many different art movements — his works in the nineties in particular feature graffiti-like strokes and collage. Baribeau’s works have been highlighted by The New York Times, Artforum and New York Magazine. He was recently featured in a solo exhibition at the Anna Zorina Gallery in New York, NY..
2. Growing up along the US/Mexico border encouraged Ado Trillo to explore the social and economic issues that affect Mexico, which she does through various mediums including photography, oil and acrylic painting. A common element in her work is the use circular composition, 24 carat gold powder and 18 carat gold leaf. Trillo received two degrees: from the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy and from Drexel University. She is represented by Racso Fine Arts and Twenty-Two Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His works have been reviewed by The New York Sun, Art Magazine, and Art Critical.
