Thriving Hollywood Icon’s Estate: Actress, Producer, Director, Author & Mother
International Actress and three-time Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd has appeared in more than 300 films and television shows and received 70 awards, including the British Academy Award. She is part of a family legacy in Hollywood, along with her daughter Laura Dern and ex-husband Bruce Dern. They are the first family of the Hollywood Walk of Fame with consecutive stars for mother, daughter, and Laura’s father, actor Bruce Dern. Originally from Mississippi, Rose Diane Lanier (changed to Ladner, aka Diane Ladd) made her debut in cousin Tennessee Williams’ off-Broadway play “Orpheus Descending” at the end of her teens.
As the 5th season of her latest successful show Chesapeake Shores on the Hallmark channel kicks-off this month, Ladd offers up a portion of her extraordinary estate in an effort to size down her residence with a focus on travel and visiting her 10 grandchildren and their families. Ladd has no intention of slowing down and sees her new streamlined lifestyle as a way to leave for location with extra time and more peace of mind.
The items featured in this collection have in Ladd’s words “been collected with joy and are presented with delight.” As a writer, alongside husband Robert Hunter, Diane Ladd believes in the importance of creating a peacefully inspiring ambiance in one’s environment. The wonderful assortment of objects being shared were either given to Ladd as a present or purchased from around the world. Hunter and Ladd found themselves collecting unique pieces during their travels, be it a spiritual symbol from a farmers market in India, a painting from an auction in France, a tray from the farmers market in London or a memento from the amazing journeys of her career.

Ladd has a particular passion for spirituality, she is actually an ordained minister and has a degree in nutrition and wellness, and shares her wisdom in her writing on the subject. Her book, published by Louise Hay, “Spiraling Through the School of Life” focuses on emotional health. Her second book “A Bad Day For A Piece Of Cake” is a collection of short stories. Both can be found on her website at DianeLadd.com. Next she is highlighting the importance of supportive love between a parent and a child in the upcoming release “Honey, Baby, Mine”. It was inspired by personal conversations and written by Diane and daughter Laura, to be released on Mother’s Day 2022.
In Ladd’s own words, the estate offers “items that are valuable in various ways, from sentimental memories, symbolic, or just fun. Whatever they represent, if you have chosen one of these items, small or large, precious or inexpensive; may they bless you one way or another in hand and heart with light eternal!”
